Another "full house" on Sunday, Sept. 13th at The Veteran's Memorial Building....Ballroom....Thirty to thirty five eager and passionate dancers were waiting at 6pm for the beginning lesson in Tango, with one of Eugene's best teachers. Chrystee Hauser, from Eugene's Staver Dance Studio.
Chrystee's love, knowledge and dedication is evident whenever she "takes command" of a room full of students, waiting, patiently, for her expertise in Tango. She began with the very basics in Tango with, (1) straight basic, (2) curving basic, (3) left turning promenade, and ending with single corte'. What an impressive, attention getting, full hour of instruction, along with her demonstrating each move and pattern so well. Thank you, Chrystee. And congratulations on your most recent "Certification". All your fans, (many) will be cheering you on as you move successfully in this exciting, challenging and satisfying career.....Ballroom Dance! And I wish to add, your smile and charming personality will place your students in a "Zone of Ease". I know you will never lose this natural ability. Proud to know you.
The "Tango Performance Team" number was presented with skill, and courage. Thanks Chrystee and team members.
PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF COMING ATTRACTIONS:
October 11th. Paul Johnson, (Staver Dance Studio) will be teaching Intermediate Foxtrot at 5pm and beginning Foxtrot at 6pm. Another one our good teachers here in Eugene. You will get some good basic, plus intermediate in one of the best loved dances, Foxtrot.
NOVEMBER 8th: Vlad Anokhin (Tatyana's Ballroom, Beaverton), will lead the Intermediate lesson at 5pm in Samba, and Beginning Samba at 6pm. NOTE: This evening, Nov. 8th,marks our annual formal/semi formal with tables, decorations, beverages and food trays for your tasting pleasure. There will also be some professional/amateur showcases, Waltz, Foxtrot, and Rumba and maybe Quick Step/Swing, all of which will be in full, igniting, costume! Plenty of social dancing between each performance.
Ladies, this is your opportunity to dress up in that special ballroom gown, and guys, always so handsome, in your suits/ties or tuxes. What a night! AND if that is not enough, Vlad promises to get everyone on their feet with his (drill sgt) Samba Line, with plenty of energy and "fire-works" going off. (Not really). Make this an experience of a life time, that is if you've never followed Vlad in a Samba Line. What a "Party" this night is going to be!!!
DECEMBER 13th.....Laura Taylor (still lovely and charming) and wife of Robert Phaigh, will be teaching HUSTLE. Intermediate at 5pm and beginning at 6pm. Laura will teach Hustle in a way you will be able to enjoy and "remember" all the steps and patterns, feeling confident in getting on the floor the next time the DJ chooses to spin a "Hustle.
New sign in front of Vet's bldg....Drive by and "admire" our/your sign regarding EUGENE BALLROOM DANCE along with our website. Very striking and professional appearing. Just like all of us!!!!!
Don’t forget "OREGON FALL FESTIVAL" Oct 9th, 10th, with workshops on 11th at The Monarch Hotel in Clackamas. www.nwballroomdance.net for clear and more details. Always a "party atmosphere" with plenty of competition, all ages and the best in professional shows on Friday and Saturday nights. I believe Eugene is going to be well represented there, you may want to be present to cheer on your favorite competitor.
Thanks to Don Christensen for DJing our last dance...I see, Don, you have many talents, DJing and dancing all combined....Must be fun....THANKS AGAIN, Don.
Our environment is clean, no smoking, no alcohol, however, you are required to "relax and have fun".
Veteran's Mem. Bldg, 1626 Willamette St, Eugene....Every second Sunday. Winter hrs....Intermediate lesson 5pm, Beginning lesson at 6pm. $5 members, $8 all others. Bottled water available. Social dancing "kicks in" at 7pm and "winds down" at 9:30pm.
